participate in、pick up、pay attention to——问「为什么是 in」没有答案。它们在母语者脑子里就是一个词。

Step 03 · 换个记法
根因 · 道理管不了名字
别分析， 认名字。
这些组合就像人名——问「周杰伦为什么是伦」没有意义。动词＋小词＝一个名字：拆开分析必错，整块记必对。
错路sign up… in? on? at?（用道理挑，哪个都像）
对路sign up for ＝ 报名（一个名字，张嘴整块出）

整块进， 整块出。
背的时候连小词一起背（sign up for）；说的时候整块说出来，小词自动带出——选择题根本不存在。
背sign up for（三个词一口气）
说I signed up for the fitness class.（for 自己蹦出来）
